The Rural Bank of Rizal inaugurated its second branch in Metro Cebu, situated in MCP Building, Natalio Bacalso Avenue (South National Highway), Barangay Linao, Talisay City, and its fifteenth branch overall, expanding its network of branches across Mindanao and Visayas.

The opening of the Rural Bank of Rizal Talisay City Branch was led by its chairman of the board Atty. Albert “Flint” Concha, Jr., along with all members of the board of directors and other bank officials.

The occasion was graced by local government officials of Talisay City, headed by Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas, Jr., Vice Mayor Richard Francis “Choy” Aznar, and the president of the Rural Bank Association of the Philippines, Ms. Anacleta Aboyme. Ms. Charito Lauron, a prominent businessperson from Carcar City, served as the distinguished guest for the opening of the 15th branch of the Rural Bank of Rizal.

Incoming president of Rural Bank of Rizal Engr. Richard Concha emphasized that the opening of their second branch in Cebu signifies their commitment to contribute to the continuous economic and financial development of Talisay City. Engr. Concha said the Rural Bank of Rizal clarified that their mandate is to provide accessible loans to rural areas under fair terms. They aim to focus on the underprivileged, often overlooked by major commercial banks, such as motorcycle taxi drivers, jeepney drivers, small store owners, teachers, local government employees, farmers, and fishermen, especially micro and small entrepreneurs.

Engr. Concha also introduced the officials of the Rural Bank of Rizal Talisay Branch, expressing gratitude to the city officials of Talisay, particularly Mayor Samsam Gullas, Jr., for expediting the approval of their application to open a branch in the said city.

The opening of the Rural Bank of Rizal in Talisay City, Cebu, is a positive development for the local economy. This financial institution is likely to bring several advantages to the community, such as increased access to banking services, opportunities for local businesses to secure loans, and a boost in financial literacy. In addition, Atty. Dug Christopher Mah-Assistant Vice President for Visayas said the establishment of the bank may attract new investments and enhance the economic resilience of Talisay City. Overall, the Rural Bank of Rizal’s presence is expected to have a favorable impact on the local economy by fostering financial inclusion and economic development.

Rural Bank of Rizal (ZN), Incorporated was established in August 29, 1975 with eleven (11) entrepreneurs as incorporators and is duly authorized by BANGKO SENTRAL NG PILIPINAS (BSP) and a member of PHILIPPINE DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION (PDIC). The SEC Registration was issued on December 7, 1976 with Registration No. 71056. The CBP Certificate of Authority was issued on December 27, 1976 ; No. B805.

It commenced its operation on January 17, 1977. The Program Components of Rural Bank of Rizal (ZN), Inc. then was Training, Savings Mobilization, Credit Services, Insurance and others.

Currently, Rural Bank of Rizal now has 15 branches in the Visayas, Mindanao and plans to add more branches nationwide.
