Whether its for helping a neighbor or friend in need of extending a hand during calamities, the Bayanihan spirit runs deep in Filipinos, who are known for being warm, resilient, and generous.

The Light the World program offers a meaningful way for Filipinos to channel this generosity, impacting lives locally and globally. The program, an initiative by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, invites people worldwide to “light the world” through small, meaningful acts of service and charitable giving. Through this program, participants are encouraged to spread kindness, love, and hope by supporting various causes that provide essential resources to those in need.

One of its most innovative features is the Giving Machines, vending machines with a twist. Each purchase is a donation to a local charity partner. One hundred percent of each donation supports the purchased items or essential needs of identified beneficiaries. The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints shoulders the administrative costs of the initiative.

Donors can choose items to support local families in need, including educational support and supplies, hygiene kits, and other essential resources. All proceeds from these purchases go directly to the chosen charities. They have the option to donate cash or through e-payment alternatives.
