Cebu City, Philippines — In a significant celebration, Childlink Learning Center & Childlink High School, Inc., in partnership with Spring Rain Global, successfully hosted a “Dinner for a Cause” on October 19, 2024, at the City Sports Club, Cebu. The event, which carried the theme “Nurturing Minds, Building Futures,” marked the launch of the school’s Philanthropic Development Office and kicked off its ambitious “30 Years for 30 Million” campaign, aimed at raising P30 million to support educational and community initiatives.

This memorable occasion celebrated Childlink’s 27-year journey of educational excellence and holistic development, while outlining a clear path for its future growth. The funds raised through the newly established Philanthropic Development Office will go towards advancing Childlink’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality education and fostering community development through targeted programs.

The Philanthropic Development Office will serve as the driving force behind Childlink’s efforts to ensure education remains within reach for all deserving students. The office will manage the “30 Years for 30 Million” campaign, which seeks to raise P30 million by 2027, Childlink’s 30th anniversary year. The campaign is designed to support key initiatives, including scholarships, after-school programs for children with special needs, and infrastructure development.

One of the focus of the initiative was the school’s efforts to empower the children of its own staff. Through its employee scholarship program, Childlink provides financial assistance to the children of its dedicated teachers and staff, ensuring that they too benefit from the school’s commitment to education. Additionally, the Philanthropic Development Office will oversee scholarships funded by community partners and sponsors, further extending educational opportunities to students who might otherwise face financial barriers.

The school’s after-school programs for children with special needs also featured prominently in the discussions. These programs offer tailored support to help children with unique learning requirements successfully transition into mainstream education. By providing individualized assistance, the initiative ensures that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their learning challenges.

Beyond its educational programs, Childlink is committed to supporting its workforce. The school places a strong emphasis on professional development for its educators, with a variety of training and wellness programs aimed at enhancing job satisfaction and performance. Investments in health and wellness programs help staff members manage stress, achieve a better work-life balance, and stay motivated to provide top-tier education.

The keynote address delivered by Mr. Philip Tan, President and CEO of Wellmade Global Holdings Inc., showed the profound importance of education in breaking the cycle of poverty. “We know that education is the equalizer of poverty,” Tan emphasized. “If a child is well-educated and grows up with the right values, the chances of success are greatly increased. Education is the key to sustaining a bright future for those who need it most.”

Mrs. Maria Theresa Tio, founder of Childlink, also shared her vision for the school’s future. “It is with hope that together, we can empower leaders and create a brighter tomorrow not just for Cebu, not just for the Philippines, but for the world,” she said, reinforcing the school’s long-standing commitment to global-minded education.

As part of its fundraising initiative, Childlink’s “30 Years for 30 Million” campaign will allocate 60% of the funds to educational programs, with the remainder supporting various other initiatives, including after-school programs, infrastructure development, and community services. The school’s vision for the future includes the construction of modern facilities, further expanding opportunities for student development and academic success.

Childlink’s focus on holistic education goes beyond the classroom, extending to community-based services such as reading literacy programs in local barangays. These efforts aim to improve literacy rates and foster a love for reading among children and adults alike, further enriching the local community.
