With the incidence of fire continuing, the Cebu City Fire Volunteer Inc. (CCFV) holds an exhibit dubbed “Are You Fire Ready?” as part of its observance of Fire Prevention Month.
The exhibit, held in partnership with Ayala Center Cebu and with the sponsorship of New Datche Phils. is ongoing at the 3rd level of Ayala Center Cebu from March 20 to 31, 2024.
“Are You Fire Ready?” is a comprehensive exhibit that offers everything from engaging displays to interactive activities, and informative resources. It’s not just an event; it’s a call to action. By attending, you’re taking the first step towards protecting yourself, your loved ones, and your property from the dangers of fire.
Engr. Elpidio A. Tariman Jr., CCFV President, explained that the exhibit will showcase our fire prevention efforts in terms of safety awareness to the public. It also represents how CCFV worked hard for the past 10 years.
Through the exhibit, CCFV aims to make people safety conscious by implementing some mitigation and preparedness by implementing fire prevention and response measures even in the residences. Engr. Tariman said..
These measures include access to fire exits and having fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems, explained Johnedsel B. Roca, CCFV board secretary.

“Being a member of both Datche and the Cebu City Fire Volunteer Inc. allows me to contribute to our community’s safety in meaningful ways, such as through the ‘Are You Fire Ready?’ exhibit,” said Mr. Michael Charles Tan, Datche Vice President for Operations and a member of CCFV.
Mr. Tan emphasized the exhibit’s significance in empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their loved ones.
“Our goal is not only to raise awareness but also to inspire action. By participating in this exhibit, individuals can learn practical ways to prevent fires and respond effectively in case of emergencies. It’s about creating a safer and more resilient community for everyone,” he explained.
One of the highlights of this exhibit is a display of professional firefighting gear. It also includes a collection of firefighting helmets from around the world, offering a unique perspective on the different approaches to firefighting across different cultures and regions.
Mr. Mark Bryan Tan, Datche’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing, also emphasized on Datche’s desire to inspire fire safety awareness in the community. “At Datche, we are committed to fostering a culture of safety, and sponsoring this exhibit is one way to show our dedication to that cause.”

New Datche Phils. supports the exhibit as part of their corporate social responsibility to promote fire safety practices. The company will be distributing flyers containing tips on fire prevention and fire response.
