“This skills training program will standardize the competencies of Community Nutrition Workers to assist in the delivery of nutrition-related services to communities as indicated in the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2023-2028, the country’s framework for nutrition improvement,” NNC Assistant Secretary Azucena Dayanghirang said, in her message during the signing event held at TESDA.  The NNC has earmarked Php10million to provide scholarship grants to the first batch of barangay nutrition scholars from PPAN Priority areas who will undertake the training this year.

NNC hopes to scale up the delivery of nutrition and related services outlined in the PPAN 2023-2028 by standardizing the training of community nutrition workers to improve their competencies and skills.

TESDA Secretary Mangudadatu on the other hand, thanked the NNC for the partnership as the Community Nutrition Services NC II complements one of the 10-point agenda and TESDA flagship program–the TESDA sa Barangay.
