February 23rd marked a significant occasion as the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) convened for its General Membership Meeting (GMM) for 2024. The prestigious event unfolded in the exquisite Ballroom 1 of Cebu Ocean Park.
Hosted by DJ Moises, CEO & Co-Founder of XP Plus Solutions, Inc., the GMM attendees were treated to an enlightening presentation by the esteemed Keynote Speaker, Mr. Jose Rene Almendras, President of the Management Association of the Philippines. His address, centered on ‘Competitive Cebu,’ provided valuable insights into our province’s position on the national stage, captivating attendees with his wealth of knowledge.
Almendras emphasized the vital role of engaged members in driving Chamber initiatives, fostering belonging and participation. Addressing broader concerns, he outlined strategies for Cebu to enhance national competitiveness, contributing to the Philippines’ overall growth. Sustainable economic goals and shared prosperity were stressed, promoting initiatives for inclusive development. He further highlighted the necessity of embracing innovation, technology, and digitalization for business adaptation and future-proofing in Cebu. Additionally, he passionately advocated for investing in the youth, emphasizing the importance of programs nurturing the next generation of business leaders for a sustainable and vibrant Cebu business community.
Moreover, the induction of 30 new members by PCCI Regional Governor Engr. Albert Uy was a symbolic ceremony of pride and sense of belongingness within the CCCI family.
The success of the GMM was further amplified by the invaluable contributions from Jobstreet by Seek and Sprout Solutions as GMM Presenters as well as First Circle Growth Finance Corporation as the GMM supporter -– who provided expert insights, enriching discussions and inspiring new avenues for exploration in the business landscape. Special mention to P&A Grant Thornton Qualfron Philippines as the 2024 e-election service provider and technical assistance during the GMM, respectively.
Following the GMM, a successful Meet and Match with Members was conducted to fostering collaboration and establishing meaningful relationships and building business connections within and among the CCCI general membership.
