The inaugural edition of CreatorWeek – a new annual festival dedicated to championing Southeast Asia’s burgeoning creator economy – will debut in Singapore this year. Taking place from 6th – 12th May 2024, CreatorWeek will convene content creators, musicians, artists and fans, connecting them with global executives and brands to share, network and learn.
At the heart of CreatorWeek will be the 19th edition of Music Matters and Music Matters Live, bringing the conference and live music festival back to its original month of May. Additional highlights include the CreatorWorld Conference, as well as music creator learning academies, and the It’s A Girl Thing festival for young women.
Jasper Donat, Co-Founder and CEO of Branded, producer of the event, said: “We are thrilled to announce the debut of CreatorWeek in Singapore this May. CreatorWeek is more than a festival; it’s a platform where ideas are born, collaborations are forged, and the future of the creator economy is shaped. We believe in the power of creativity to drive change and innovation. CreatorWeek aims to empower young creators and artists, provide opportunities for learning and networking, and foster an environment where talent can thrive.”
To help bring the festival to life, Branded has formed a strategic partnership with Caldecott Music Group (CMG), which is also headquartered in Singapore. CMG will bring the might of its collective of owned and operated music brands and venues to the festival, including BandLab Technologies, NME Networks and Vista Musical Instruments (VMI). VMI’s soon-to-open Swee Lee Clarke Quay music lifestyle store and experience will play a significant part in the festival.
Kuok Meng Ru, Group CEO & Founder of Caldecott Music Group said: “We are extremely excited to partner with Branded to shine a spotlight on Singapore and bring the region’s most promising emerging musical talent together for CreatorWeek; CMG and Branded share a common goal of building the grass-roots musical community across the region, and giving up-and-coming musicians opportunities to perform and connect with fans.”
Branded has also formed a strategic partnership with Mediacorp’s content creator network Bloomr.SG and will work with the Bloomr.SG team to bring Singapore-based content creators together with local fans and brands from across the globe through the CreatorWeek platform.
